Scotland fans in Boston are “delighted” their team beat Haiti 1-0 in the nation’s 2026 World Cup debut.
An estimated 40,000 Scots travelled to the United States for the national team’s match, which kicked off at 9pm EST (2am GMT).
The city’s only dedicated Scottish pub, The Haven, hosted a watch party attended by hundreds of Tartan Army followers, which included some fans from the nation and others, including American nationals who support the team.
Throughout the evening, fans enjoyed bagpipes, dance music, plenty of Tennents lager and street food in the blazing heat, surrounded by screens in a large gazebo.

When the final whistle was blown and Scotland were crowned the winners, fans erupted into a symphony of sheer joy, with some dancing on the tables and others proudly flying the country’s flag above their heads in celebration.
Husband and wife Daniel and Angela Serig are Boston-born Scotland fans.
Mr Serig said: “The fans were awesome! Jason Waddleton, who owns The Haven, he’s been awesome in this community.
“He’s built the place up, and for him to pull this off and bring in all the Scottish fans is absolutely brilliant.”
Ms Serig, 54, added: “It was fantastic. I was so excited for Scotland to be back in the World Cup, and it was a really good game.
“It was close until the very end, and to have all the Scottish fans here in Boston was amazing.
“It was great to watch the game with them.”
Sam Hood, 22, said: “Unreal. It was top of the table. I feel like we needed more goals for later on, but I can’t complain. We’re top of the table and we got three points!”

Liam Gibb, 29, commented: “First off, I’m delighted that we actually saw it through, which usually we don’t, especially in my lifetime, but god, we don’t half make it stressful, do we?
“But no, we saw it through, and that’s all that matters today.
“Top of the group? Who cares? it doesn’t matter how you get it done, as long as you get it done, and that’s exactly what we did.”
Couple Marc and Katie Fuller were also blown away by Scotland’s performance.
Mr Fuller, 39, said: “I’ve watched Scotland play good and lose, and now I’ve now watched Scotland play poorly and won, so I’m happy with that.
“It’s the World Cup to be fair, so you can’t be unhappy, really, can you?”
Katie, 37, added: “I’m surprised that with the amount of fouls we’ve seen that we got there. I’m really, really happy about the result!”
