Türkiye on Sunday marked the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr ​​​​​​​with nationwide celebrations and official messages emphasizing unity, peace, and social cohesion. Across the country, people gathered for Eid prayers, visiting loved ones and taking part in charitable acts, reflecting the values of compassion and togetherness central to the celebration. Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus performed Eid prayers at Istanbul’s Grand Camlica Mosque and extended his wishes for peace and justice across the Islamic world. He stressed the importance of solidarity and voiced hope for an end to suffering, particularly in Gaza. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan shared a message calling for lasting peace, underlining Türkiye’s commitment to regional stability. He also reiterated support for international humanitarian efforts during the Eid, which follows the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, in his Eid message, wished for a holiday free of traffic accidents and urged safe, responsible driving. He praised security forces and public servants working during the holiday to maintain safety and order. National Defense Minister Yasar Guler paid tribute to the Turkish Armed Forces, acknowledging their unwavering commitment to protecting the nation and conveying his best wishes for the Eid.​ Health Minister Fahrettin Koca urged people to prioritize health and well-being while celebrating, encouraging everyone to follow safety guidelines and expressing his hope for a healthy Eid for all.​ Youth and Sports Minister Osman Askin Bak also joined Eid prayers in Istanbul and stressed the unifying spirit of the holiday and its role in strengthening national bonds.
